Unfortunately, there is no such thing as a healthy cocktail, but why not pretend right? Most cocktails are made with high calorie additives, making it easy to get off track with your diet. They can also be high in unnatural sugar, making your skin scream! But these three simple cocktail recipes will help cut the calories in half. These recipes use fresh fruit and water while still tasting delicious – so not only are they refreshing but they will be a little nutritious also. Count me in bartender!
Skinny Margarita
2 Shots of Tequila (Milagro, Espolòn Blanco and Patrón Silver are three of my favorites, but any tequila will do)
½ Cup of fresh squeezed lime Juice
Splash of Sparkling Water
Mix Tequila and lime juice together. Pour over ice into salt rimmed glasses. Pour a splash of sparkling water. Add lime garnish and enjoy! It’s Cinco de Mayo everyday with this drink! Pro-tip: swap out the lime juice for fresh squeezed orange juice – oh hey Tequila Sunrise!
Vodka Delight
1-2 shots of Tito’s Vodka (any gluten free Vodka will do)
1 oz of Fresh Squeezed Lemon Juice
1 oz Natural Cranberry Juice
1 oz Water
Mix together. Pour over ice and enjoy poolside or at dinner with the girls (or guys!).
Coco-Loco
2oz Pineapple Juice
1 oz. Coconut Water
1 oz. White Rum
Mix together. Pour over ice and enjoy. This one just screams tan skinned and dancing on an island.
***Please drink responsibly and remember do not attempt a workout after a few of these. enjoy!
